Bowling Alley Brawl Ends with Security Guard Firing Gunshots in Air

Davie, FL - A brawl at a South Florida bowling alley resulted in the arrest of a security guard who allegedly fired a dozen gunshots into the air to break up the fight.

According to Davie police, the fight escalated early Monday morning when a security guard, identified as 47-year-old Jhajaira Mora Peralta, fired over a dozen rounds into the air to disperse the crowd.

Peralta, employed by EMS Protective Group, reportedly intervened in a brawl at SpareZ just before 12:30 a.m.

Peralta claimed she fired her Glock 19 in fear for a man being attacked, but police reports state she admitted not knowing if pointing the weapon was appropriate.

No injuries were reported during Monday's shooting.

Peralta faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, improper firearm exhibition, and discharging a firearm in public.

She was released Tuesday afternoon on a $17,500 bond.
