On Saturday, June 6, Global Empowerment Mission and Farm Share are hosting free hurricane supply distributions across Florida. From 9:00 AM to noon, families can pick up essential disaster kits at sites like:
Miami Gardens: Antioch Missionary Church (21311 NW 34th Ave).
Homestead: Harris Field Park (1034 NE 8th St).
Hialeah: Milander Park (4700 Palm Ave) — Event held Sunday, June 7.
Sunrise: Amerant Bank Arena (1 Panther Pkwy).
Lauderdale Lakes: Vincent Torres Park (4431 NW 36th St).
Jacksonville: Celebration Church (9555 RG Skinner Pkwy).
Fort Myers: Next Level Church (12400 Plantation Rd).
Belle Glade: Hand Park (500 W Canal St S).
Tallahassee: Leon County Health Department (2965 Major James Morgan Jr. Way)
Supplies are first-come, first-served with no ID required.
The preparedness kits are designed to provide a "baseline" for families and typically include:
- Essentials: Water, non-perishable food (MREs, canned goods), shelf-stable milk, and electrolytes.
- Tools & Gear: Small flashlights with batteries, emergency blankets, ponchos, and first-aid kits.
- Hygiene & Care: Toiletry kits (soap, towels, toothpaste), laundry detergent sheets, and dog food.
