Life-saving drone technology coming to save distressed swimmers on Hollywood Beach. Fire Rescue Battalion Chief David Guernsey calls this a game-changer, speeding up a rescue and increasing chances of survival. The drones can fly out to a swimmer up to two miles offshore and drop a floatation device which activates as soon as it hits water. He says this is critical in saving people caught in rip currents which easily take them two-hundred yards out in a matter of seconds.
