Construction Worker Severely Injured In Gas Blast

A construction worker remains hospitalized, suffering 2nd and 3rd degree burns to most of his body after an explosion at a gas station in Hallandale Beach.

It happened at Mobil on the corner of Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Federal Highway. According to Broward Fire Rescue, crews were trying to access an underground fuel tank when they cut the concrete above it, which caused vapors in the tank to ignite.
