Miami-Dade, FL - South Florida police arrested a 24-year-old man in a "vigilante-style" operation for attempting to meet a 15-year-old boy for sex.
Miami-Dade Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Squad arrested 24-year-old Moises A. Flores Coello on Wednesday in a "vigilante-style" operation aimed at catching child predators.
The arrest occurred near the 7900 block of Southwest 52nd Court around 7:30 p.m.
According to detectives, a person posing as a 15-year-old boy interacted with Flores Coello through a chat application.
After one day of communication, authorities allege that Flores Coello asked for an address to meet the individual in person.
Upon meeting, police said Flores Coello attempted to cuddle, kiss, and touch the person, whom he believed to be a minor.
Investigators discovered a Magnum condom and candy while searching him before taking him into custody.
Authorities reported that Flores Coello made a confession, which was redacted from the official report.
He is now facing charges of illegal use of computer services or devices and traveling to meet a minor for unlawful purposes.
As of Thursday, Flores Coello was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with his bond yet to be determined.
