It's not the kind of activity you may be used to on the weekend, but Celebrate America Recycles Day will be fun and informative.

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County's Patti Hammond shares the details on Saturday's event.

"You'll get to see first hand how our garbage is being processed with Renewable Energy 2. We will have a bunch of miscellaneous, different, fun vendors as well. We'll have games. We'll have food trucks."

She says you can also shred up to six boxes of personal documents per vehicle for free, grab a free recycling bin and safely get rid of hazardous waste at tomorrow's event which is going on at the SWA's Education Center on Jog Road.

"We are very proud of our facilities. They're nice and clean. They're great. They're state-of-the-art. Definitely time for the family to come out and enjoy themselves."

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
