Mass Trial Begins For Mobile Home Park Residents Facing Eviction

Mass trial begins today for hundreds of Lil Abner mobile home owners facing eviction in Miami-Dade. Attorney David Winker says these residents deserve better. The mobile home park's owner is suing to evict about two hundred defendants who received notices in November to vacate their trailers by May. The company plans to develop the land for a multi-family housing complex. Residents were offered buy outs to leave, but say it's not enough to find alternative housing with the county's affordability crisis. Today's hearing before a panel of five judges is the first in a series to determine the residents' fate.
