All school districts along Florida's Treasure Coast are closing schools tomorrow.
Administrators in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties have all decided to cancel classes ahead of any potential effects from Hurricane Helene.
A Tropical Storm warning is in effect for the entire east coast of the state, including those Treasure Coast counties. That means that wind gusts of at least 39 miles per hour are a possibility.
The school districts have not said what will happen on Friday and appear to be ready to see how things play out tomorrow before deciding.
The Palm Beach County School District this afternoon says it is closely monitoring the storm but is not impacting District operations at this time. They're continuing to monitor Helene and will post updates to their social media accounts.
