A local mother from Palm City by the name of Jennifer Katz is running for woman of the year for the Leukemia&Lymphoma Society. She is the only one in Martin County who has been campaigning since March 8th. Back in 2017 her son who was 6 at the time was diagnosed with stage 4 Berkitts Lymphoma. He fought for his life, and has now been in remission for two years. She is very passionate about spreading awareness to others about the importance of raising funds for those who are battling blood cancers. When you or a loved one is given such a horrible diagnoses such as cancer , it is very comforting to know that there is some kind of hope for a cure.
